One year ago, Zhang Changfeng, Deputy Chief Physician of the Anesthesia Department at Shaoxing People's Hospital and a member of the 29th batch of the China-Mali Medical Aid Team, along with six other teammates from Shaoxing, set off to begin their 18-month medical mission in Bamako, the capital of Mali. On the way, Zhang Changfeng kept wondering: what would he experience in Africa?

Over the past year, in the face of extreme shortages of medical resources, Zhang Changfeng and his teammates overcame challenges such as a lack of medical equipment, poor operating room conditions, and communication difficulties due to the French language. Through treating patient after patient, they earned a good reputation locally.

Malians are passionate about football. During their breaks in the evening, Zhang Changfeng would watch them play football at a field on "Zhejiang Avenue." The Malians don’t have professional football shoes; they play in sandals, but their enthusiasm remains undiminished. When they see a Chinese face, some greet him with a "Ni hao" in Chinese. "Zhejiang Avenue" connects the work and life of Shaoxing doctors aiding Africa, and also bears witness to the true feelings and friendship between the two countries.

365 days in Africa, Zhang Changfeng has written 120,000 words, taken more than 5,000 photos, and documented each meaningful day. Through the short video “Shaoxing Doctor’s Seven Questions on Aid to Africa 1: What Will I Experience in Africa?”, you can see Zhang Changfeng's experiences in Africa.
