LuskinOIC Hosts Third Annual Cerebral Palsy Camp at Downtown Los Angeles Campus In Collaboration with Angel City Sports

CP Camp provides children with cerebral palsy three days of fun, and new opportunities to grow, play, and thrive, Aug 5 - 7, 2025

Cerebral palsy is the most common childhood physical disability in the United States and throughout the world. There is not a single cause for cerebral palsy, and it is not caused by any specific genetic problem. It is a group of disorders affecting posture, strength and movement that occur as a result of an injury that occurs in the developing brain, typically around the time of birth.

August 5, 6, & 7, LuskinOIC, in collaboration with Angel City Sports, will host their third annual Cerebral Palsy Camp (CP Camp) led by Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Director Chris Caron and her dedicated team.

The one-of-its-kind CP Camp was uniquely created for children with cerebral palsy to play sports, grow in their confidence, and foster a sense of community for children and parents.

“The driving philosophy of CP Camp,” states Christine Caron, PT, DPT, PCS, Director of Rehabilitation Center at LuskinOIC, Physical Therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Pediatric Clinical Specialist, “is to provide children with three days of incredible experiences and activities they may not have the opportunity to enjoy elsewhere.”

CP Camp provides children with cerebral palsy a chance to explore new activities, including adaptive sports, arts & crafts, and water fun, while 70 future clinicians and LuskinOIC volunteers like the UCLA Women’s Basketball team Kiki Rice, Gabriela Jaquez, Lauren Betts, Gianna Kneepkens, Charlisse Leger-Walker, and Angela Dugalic will serve as Camp Guides for CP Campers and parents.

The Cerebral Palsy Center at UCLA and Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children (LuskinOIC) strives to enhance physical abilities and independence for children with cerebral palsy. Dr. Soroush Baghdadi has been the Director of the Cerebral Palsy Center at UCLA and Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children since 2024. His dedication to advancing pediatric orthopaedics is reflected in his research, clinical practice, and contributions to the global orthopaedic community.

The Cerebral Palsy Center at UCLA and Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children, CP Camp will be held at LuskinOIC’s Downtown LA campus at 403 West Adams Blvd. Registration is required, and CP Camp runs, 8AM - 2PM.
